Ever wondered how you can achieve the greatest possible web security? Well the answer is simple really: you just have to play a couple games involving some password guessing, scratch coding, and a bit of anti-scamming. Or at least that according to PBS' NOVA Labs Cybersecurity game which is basically just that, a game that teaches the pure basics of what its like to have a solid secure cyber network. The main goal of the games is to protect a new company, of your choosing, from malicious hackers seeking to undermine it all the while trying to obtain more and more users. Overall the game was relatively easy: it consisted of three main games with multiple steps leading to completion, these games had three levels in which they became increasingly harder to complete the further you got. Completion of levels was awarded with upgrade points enabling you to enhance your security and ward off incoming hackers; the better the results, the stronger the defense. In my opinion this game is a good introductory course for students with little to no knowledge of cyber security, coding, and the harm of hackers and scams. If I was to rate the game it would receive an 8 out of ten for well structured with important information, however lacking a more interactivity with the user.
